I finally gave in and let O read the last book in the Harry Potter series.
The reviews implied it was very intense and he wasn't even 9 yet when he first asked for it. Having stalled for about a year and a half, I'm quite satisfied to let him enjoy it.

Diary of a Confused Mom: May 14th 2015
T has been wanting to have one of his soccer teammates over for a play date. They are both passionate about soccer and pretty good at it, but I wasn't certain there was an actual relationship there until I saw his teammate kneel down and tie his shoe lace for him during practice.
It was one of those heartwarming moments that emphasizes a special bond between two boys.
After practice, I asked the mom for their number to make arrangements. I'm guessing it will be soccer till they drop that day!

Diary of a Confused Mom: May 13th 2015
There is something deeply disturbing about watching children around a flavored ice truck.
They pour out the sugar syrup like addicts and hover around the truck unable to break away from the hypnotic mix of sugar and food coloring.
I can see documentaries about nutrition deficiency and childhood obesity being made with this kind of footage.

Diary of a Confused Mom: May 12th 2015
Sipping tea while Z sleeps.
A few moments of silence in our house, and me, quietly relishing the joy of my own company. Is it possible for a person to miss their self?

Diary of a Confused Mom: May 10th 2015
It was an interesting Mother's Day today. Started out with gifts from the boys in the form of some adorable drawings and a 'Greatest Mom Award' they designed.
Then the day was hectic and the boys' behaved at their absolute worst. I actually hurt my tongue screaming at O, while guests were visiting. Yes... it was that bad.
And just when I was chalking the day up to another failure at appreciating and celebrating moms, bedtime came. I've come to view bedtime as the time when those adorable, vulnerable, well raised boys come out to replace my rambunctious, defiant, lung challenging bunch. They were logical, apologetic and incredibly sweet. I was even informed my greatest mom award came with massage benefits!
Although I was spent, I realized that the greatest gift a mother could ever have, is to know that despite the many, frequent glitches, she is raising good people with pure hearts and high moral standards.

| (Seagulls were an unexpected choice, but apparently it started out as an eagle which T creatively transformed when things went wrong). |

Diary of a Confused Mon: May 9th 2015
I never see a true happiness like the one that shines in T's eyes when he's playing soccer.
He has a twinkle in his eyes and a happiness on his face that are amazing to see.

Diary of a Confused Mom: May 7th 2015
We found a small hare in our backyard today. It was munching on the leaves of one of our bushes and using a pipe we have laying there as its burrow.
