Diary of a Confused Mom: May 10th 2015

It was an interesting Mother's Day today. Started out with gifts from the boys in the form of some adorable drawings and a 'Greatest Mom Award' they designed.

(Seagulls were an unexpected choice, but apparently it started out as an eagle which T creatively transformed when things went wrong).

Then the day was hectic and the boys' behaved at their absolute worst. I actually hurt my tongue screaming at O, while guests were visiting. Yes... it was that bad.

And just when I was chalking the day up to another failure at appreciating and celebrating moms, bedtime came. I've come to view bedtime as the time when those adorable, vulnerable, well raised boys come out to replace my rambunctious, defiant, lung challenging bunch. They were logical, apologetic and incredibly sweet. I was even informed my greatest mom award came with massage benefits!

Although I was spent, I realized that the greatest gift a mother could ever have, is to know that despite the many, frequent glitches, she is raising good people with pure hearts and high moral standards.
